September 2020 Update: The school will be working with children, parents, staff and Governors over the next term to review the Core Values, Mission Statement and Vision for Claycots School.
Further information will be communicated to all stakeholders shortly and the school hopes to have completed this process ready for the Spring Term 2021.
The new Vision and Values will be shared with the children and parents when we return from the National Lockdown.
“Our School is a place that has purpose and relevance for the children of today preparing to be the leaders and citizens of the future. It is a place where they can be inspired to be the very best that they can be; where they are proud of both their community and cultural heritage as citizens of the United Kingdom; a place of safety, tolerance and respect; where their lives are enriched by an innovative, engaging and enriching curriculum helping talent to be nurtured and grown to future success.”
At Claycots School we believe that all children have the potential to flourish and be successful at whatever they choose, we do not encourage them to try and be somebody else, we expect them to be the best version of themselves.
However to truly be successful it will not come without commitment and determination and a strong sense of self-will and direction. Success does not come through desire alone and it is the ethos of hard work, resilience, loyalty and integrity which makes a Claycots pupil stand apart from their peers in the wider community.
We all have a part to play for this exciting and unpredictable journey, pupils, parents, wider families and all staff within the school as we prepare them to take on the world and win!
But one thing is guaranteed they will be immersed in a culture of ambition that will prepare them well for life and to always be striving to make the steps required that will help them achieve their unique and special potential!
The LIVE values are at the heart of everything we do at Claycots School Partnership. Our values are so important to the entire school community that they underpin our decision-making and policy processes. We strive to keep these values in mind and take all decisions in the best interests of the children.
L – Love learning, lead learning
We aim to build a community of life-long learners. We promote the children’s learning through the use of Learning Intentions and Success Criteria. This provides a structure for delivering an exciting and engaging curriculum and give our children the opportunities to lead learning for themselves and others. Staff at all levels are offered the opportunity to lead the learning of other staff members.
I – Investigate and Innovate
We teach the foundations of investigation and innovation to children and promote the use of research and evidence based practice in our staff members. Our children take part in investigative learning as part of their planned curriculum, with innovation built in to our exciting wider curriculum.
V – Value ourselves, each other
Our diverse community is built on a foundation of mutual respect, tolerance and celebration of difference and diversity. We aim to prepare our children for life in modern Britain and to take their place as the potential future leaders in a global economy. Inclusion is at the heart of our approach to our children and families – providing the best opportunities for all of our children.
E – Excellence through Expectation
We promote high standards of expectation for all of our children and staff members. Children flourish when adults expect them to excel in their academic studies and provide as much support and guidance as they need to get them there. Our wider curriculum gives opportunities for children to excel in other areas – like Outdoor Education and Art. All of our staff members have high expectations of themselves and work hard to achieve to their full potential.
